General Information
Data Package:
Local Identifier:edi.1340.1
Title:Lake Tahoe Historic Secchi depth
Alternate Identifier:DOI PLACE HOLDER
Abstract:

Historic Secchi depth (Water clarity) measurement of Lake Tahoe, CA/NV. There are two sampling stations Index (LTP, 39.0972 -120.155) and Mid-lake (MLTP, 39.1417 -120.0153

). Observation at Index station started on 1967-07-28, and averaged sampling interval is around 14 days. Mid-lake station sampling has been started on 1980-04-29, and taken at approximately 33 days interval.

Methods and protocols used in the collection of this data package
Description:

The 25cm (10 inch) matte white disk is lowered from shaded side of the boat. The depth where disk disappear when lowering and re-appear when recovering are recorded and then averaged. Also, subjective measure of viewing condition by the observer (explained below) and also observation of general weather and lake conditions are recorded.
