Sonde Data (2010-2014) from the Salmon Trout River in the Huron Mountains, Marquette Co., Michigan.

General Information
Data Package:
Local Identifier:edi.1449.1
Title:Sonde Data (2010-2014) from the Salmon Trout River in the Huron Mountains, Marquette Co., Michigan.
Alternate Identifier:DOI PLACE HOLDER
Abstract:

This dataset includes readings from a multi-parameter water quality sonde to continuously monitor chemical and biological conditions (water temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity) on the Salmon Trout River in Marquette, MI. This sensor was deployed May-Nov 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. This dataset includes cleaned raw data obtained with the sonde and may include time periods when readings were affected by sand accumulation/burial of the sensors.

Methods and protocols used in the collection of this data package
Description:

We installed a multi-parameter water quality sonde to continuously monitor chemical and biological conditions approximately 1 km downstream of the gatehouse bridge. This sensor was deployed May-Nov 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The sonde was set to record every 10 minutes and every 20-40 days the sonde was replaced with a newly calibrated sonde. Calibrations followed all manufacturer's recommended procedures for dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH and turbidity as was calibrated within 2-3 days of the start of each deployment

Instrument(s):YSI 6920 V2 sonde ROX probe with wiper (6150) Turbidity probe (6136) ph/ORP probe (6565) Temperature/conductivity probe (6920)
