Title:High-frequency sensor turbidity data collected by Stroud Water Research Center in a recovery reach of White Clay Creek site ID WCC040 from November 2014 through September 2017
Alternate Identifier:DOI PLACE HOLDER
Abstract:

High-frequency sensor data from a Campbell Scientific OSB3 (every 5-minutes) in a recovery reach at White Clay Creek from November 2014 through September 2017.

Funded by NSF, DEB as part of the LTREB grant, NFWF as part of the Hurricane Sandy Grant, PADEP as part of the Growing Greener Grant, and the Stroud Endowment for Environmental Research, to study the recovery of stream ecosystem structure and function during reforestation, Stroud Water Research Center.

The parameter in this data package is turbidity. Data is presented in two tables which likely have significant overlap. The raw data table presents the data exactly as it was downloaded from the Aquarius Database. It is formatted as a "wide" human-readable table. Turbidity at White Clay Creek Site WCC040 since 2014 OSB3 presents only the data from the respective sensors. These tables are gap filled for intervals greater than 10 minutes and less than 24 hours. It is organized as a long, tidy table and is optimal for machine readability.

All of the parameters and table are further explained in the metadata.

Abstract:

Stream restoration in the United States is a multibillion-dollar industry. Yet long-term monitoring of its effectiveness is virtually nonexistent. Stroud Center scientists are studying restoration within White Clay Creek that involves the reforestation of meadows or pastures with native deciduous trees and the removal of invasive plant species. As the planted forest matures, researchers characterize the changes in the aquatic biological communities and their associated activity. Teachers are trained in the use of long-term environmental data as a means to enhance math skills, analytical abilities, and environmental knowledge of both students and teachers.
