Lake Võrtsjärv was equipped with a high frequency monitoring
platform. Continuous monitoring of pH, dissolved oxygen, dissolved
oxygen saturation, water temperature, water specific conductance,
water turbidity, chlorophyll fluorescence, phycocyanin fluorescence
were conducted with a multiparametric sonde (Yellow Springs
Instruments (YSI) 6600 V2–4) at one-meter depth. All sensors used
for underwater measurements were calibrated according to the
manufacturer instructions at least once per month. Air parameters
(wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, atmospheric pressure,
and precipitation) were collected with the Vaisala multiparameter
weather station (WXT520) at 2 meters above the lake water surface.
Solar irradiance measurements were collected with the Licor
pyranometer (model LI-200) also 2 meters above the lake water
surface.
