Abstract:

Winter water temperature measurements from Trout Bog and South Sparkling Bog from 2019 and 2020. Measurements were taken between the months of January and April during each year; sampling frequency was between two and three weeks. Measurements were taken using a probe (give specific name) every meter for depths 0m - 7m in both lakes.

This project explores the impact of removing snow from a small, dystrophic lake in northern Wisconsin during ice-cover. South Sparkling Bog is the experimental lake, and Trout Bog is the comparison lake. Both lakes are similar in area, depths, and bathymetry.
