Abstract:	These data are part of a long-term monitoring program at Lake Myvatn, Iceland. The program was designed to characterize import benthic and pelagic variables across years as chironomid midge populations varied in abundance. Starting in 2012 samples were taken at roughly ten-day intervals during June, July, and August at a central location in the lake. Starting in 2015, additional five sites representing dominant habitat types were sampled generally three times each year. The dataset also includes occasional winter samples under ice.

For 2013-2019 the HOBO Pendant Temperature/Light 64K Data Logger was attached to the top of the buoy that held the sonde, while in 2020 a separate buoy was used located 10m from the sonde buoy. Temperature is included in the data, although this was unshaded and therefore should not be used for air temperature. Light levels (PAR) for 2012 are available from a nearby weather station operated by the Icelandic Meteorological Office (Myvatn station, station number 4300, WMO number 4173, location 65.6193N 16.9768W).

Name:	surface ligth
Description:	Measurements of light level (Lux) taken every 15 or 30min paired with the Hydrolab DS5X sonde measurements (see Table myv_sonde_2012-2020.csv) for calculation of net ecosystem production (NEP). For 2013-2019 the HOBO Pendant Temperature/Light 64K Data Logger was attached to the top of the buoy that held the sonde, while in 2020 a separate buoy was used located 10m from the sonde buoy. Temperature is included in the data, although this was unshaded and therefore should not be used for air temperature. Light levels (PAR) for 2012 are available from a nearby weather station operated by the Icelandic Meteorological Office (Myvatn station, station number 4300, WMO number 4173, location 65.6193N 16.9768W).
