CDIP Model and processing
Information on methods and algorithms used by CDIP are available
from: http://cdip.ucsb.edu
General information
The model applies only to the mainland coast, and is not run for the
Santa Barbara Channel Islands.
Determination of MOP Sites for SBC LTER
Model data are available for pre-determined sites ("MOP"
sites). We located the closest MOP site to each SBC site:
'B0278' - ABUR
'B0687' - AHND
'B0663'- AQUE
'B0871'- BULL
'B0065'- CARP
'B0355'- GOLB
'B0394'- IVEE
'B0263'- MOHK
'B0494'- NAPL
Some known issues:
There appear to be lower than expected wave heights at some sites at
the beginning and end of some locations, here is a list of sites and
times where modeled wave heights are lower than expected, this is
based on visual interpretation
This may be due to missing buoy data
ABUR - All dates prior to June 27, 2002
AHND - No issues
AQUE - No issues

Data Retrieval
Hourly CDIP data were retrieved from the THREDDS server at:
https://thredds.cdip.ucsd.edu/thredds/catalog/cdip/model/MOP_alongshore/catalog.html.
Matlab script was used to process the hourly data and take the
average to daily values.
