  • Data were collected at the Faville Prairie State Natural Area in Jefferson County, Wisconsin. Faville Prairie is a 60-acre (35.4 hectares) wet to wet-mesic remnant prairie. Plant species richness and abundance were collected at 180, 2x2m quadrats spaced 100 feet (30.48 meters) apart in a 15 x 12 grid. The impetus for the study was to detect changes in the plant community after a historic flooding event in the late spring of 2008. Previous data collected in 1978 at the same quadrats was used as "before" conditions and the 2010 sample was considered "after".
